Gill Kirkham, founder of Rare Event, was engaged as Head of Sales & Marketing for The Brewin Dolphin Cheltenham Cricket Festival 2016, and was tasked with creating a Festival that encompassed far more than cricket alone, and with opening the Festival up to a wider audience than it's stalwart cricket fans. Thus, the county's first Yogathon was born, the most lively and engaging Ladies Day was full to capacity, and more money than ever before was raised for the Festival's charity, Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity.

For the launch of Room 101, Craig Parkinson (star of Channel 4's Indian Summers) cut the ribbon to a crowd of specially invited VIP guests. Themed refreshments included Indian Summer cocktails by Ange Noir, and a deli of treats provided by the Voojan Lounge. The night was seamless, the guests happy and Craig hysterical. Local press and media scrummed for photograph and interview opportunities, all of which were published with the prerequisite that Room 101 was as much as star of the show as Mr Parkinson proved to be.
